This challenge really made me think. I would be in a lot of trouble if our water was turned off for very long. I have two week's supply of potable water and that would be a big problem. I guess I could go to a friend's house and refill the bottles. Our rain barrels would definitely come in handy for flushing the toilets, so I'll make sure that I keep one filled.<br><br>We're going out to a local festival today that was already planned. And fortunately for us, our friends had gotten free tickets and the day is their treat! It's funny (and wonderful) how that worked out. I would have felt bad if I had to just walk around and not even buy something to drink. It's almost scarier to think about a financial hardship than any other type of emergency. The others affect everyone, but somehow, financial hardship is personal and embarrassing and stressful. That makes it much harder to deal with. I am really learning so much this week! I find from talking to other members here in our neck of the woods that there is an attitude of "it will never happen to us". And yet it does all the time. My husband and I have such a testimony of the blessings of having food storage, because of his retrenchment while our children were still young. We lived on our food storage for a long time before he got permament work again. I find these challenges really good at seeing how ready we are to do that again. Thank you again.
