Another benefit to having food storage on-hand for every day emergencies is that when my husband or kids ask what they can eat for a snack, I can send them to the food storage shelves where I have made a snack section--full of boxes of crackers, fruit snacks, beef jerky, granola bars, etc.

I love agave nectar. I thought it was funny that it's the same plant that's made into expensive tequila(sp).

I just got some Organic Blue Agave at Costco. I used it in place of honey in our smoothies and could tell no difference. I haven't experimented with it in other ways yet.

Not sure if this is the same as yours, but I have some blue Agave nectar - it's a liquid and I use it as I would honey. I don't need as much because it's sweeter than honey or sugar. If yours is a liquid, just sub like honey - remembering to factor in the liquid as well as the sweetness. There's a conversion chart somewhere I saw years ago to account for the extra liquid that you get with the honey. (Try "Making the Best of Basics" by Talmage - or google it)

My favorite is when you get to the store and they are out of your favorite (cheaper) brand or item. That's ok, though, because I still have 2 or 3 left in food storage....
