Personally, I would make a separate backpack for each child that is able to carry one. Include their own food and clothing in their pack. This will help ease your load plus in case you get separated they will have their own necessities.

I am making my Disaster Kits and I have several children. Should I put my older children's clothes in with mine or should they carry a smaller backpack with some clothes and a water bottle and things? It seems like my kit is growing...

Great Value brand of juice comes in jugs just like the ones in the video. They have a handle and stack neatly. I have some. I use mine to store food in. They have a wider mouth than a 2 liter. They are exccellent to store ellbow macaroni noodles in. (I have stored elbow macaroni noodles in 2 liters also, not easy to get them in and out but it can be done)

I lived thru the Northridge, CA quake.
That Bug out or Go bag will not be on the shelf.
The whole shelf can come down. Keep one under your bed
tied to the foot of the bed. Have several in different places of
the house. Cause you never know which room will get hit the hardest
or where you will be.

One thing to clarify is that everyone needs an emergency whistle. During emergencies or natural disasters you may become separated, or might not be together in the first place.

Cute video :) I came across foil packs of water on Amazon that might take up less room. Not sure what their shelf life is though or how they compare in price. (I didn't dig much into them.)What brand of water (the gallons) did your mom have? I've seen ones with handles before, but none that were so neatly stackable.

You have to go to our actual site to view the video. Apparently it doesn't come through into the notes with the rest of the post.

I like my custom kit. I don't like the bars (2400 or 3600 calorie)that come with regular kits and the first aid kits are minimal at best.
