Does anyone know where I can get non-instant dry milk? That's the suggestion here, but I've only been able to find Organic Valley non-instant – and it's $150 for 25 lb!! Any better suggestions?

Hello – I love your website, I've learned so much, but I have a question. I was looking at babystep #15 and you say that the dehydrated eggs are actually cheaper than real eggs. When I look at your link to Amazon, though, it shows the equivalent of 8 dozen eggs for $64!! That's $8 a dozen!!! Wow, that doesn't seem cheaper.

Also with a KitchenAid wheat grinder you should know that it does not grind a very fine flour. To make an ideal texture you really need to put the flour through a second time. It's time consuming and slow compared to a regular mill.

A kitchenaid mixer has a wheat grinder attachment you can buy. However we have heard that it can burn out the motor of your kitchenaid.

I got a Bread Mixer made by Cooks. It was a fraction of the price of most mixers and I love it. It goes on sale at Penneys and with coupons, it's a great deal. I got mine for about $130.00

I was just on the sams and shelf reliance websites and the same 72″ plenty is $291 at sams and $430 at the shelf reliance site?! thats almost twice the price why is it so much on the supplier site and cheaper at sams?

Jennice, We aren't dealers for any bread makers. I actually just use my kitchenaid and then bake them in regular bread pans. We are going to try to look into this in the future and will post what we learn!

my favorite book is Make a Mix!!! From food storage and beyond… You can make mixes, they last 6 months to a year. There is dry mixes, refrigator mixes, freezer mixes, etc.. It make cooking so much faster! Great way to use food storage!!!

SHELF RELIANCE is a great website you can set up what you want to buy for your food storage, and how much a mnoth, then have it shipped every month. It might be a little more expensive this way. But I know that it's coming every month and I can deducte from my grocery bill! I know I'm stocking up every month.

Hi Girls,

I love your website and I am constantly checking it! I have just come across an amazing company called “Shirley J’s”… They have great products to use in your food storage with an amazing 20 year plus shelf life! I went to a demo today here in Utah, and their products taste phenom! They are in their pre-launch phase, as they’ve just gotten new owners and they are revamping to not only sell to restaurant chains (which is where they’ve been hiding!) but to get it into homes like ours!!! I love that not only do they stress food storage, but just as important, pantry management! Imagine, having a soup base that makes soups, cheese sauces, and so much more! I was amazed at not only the flavor but the prices! Just a tidbit and shout out to you gals and all you do to make food storage fun and easy! I have no affiliation with this company, but my friend orders food from them and they have some great grains, beans, everything you mention here except real milk (they have what they call better than milk, etc). I think it is a real winner.
