This year is the year we are really focusing powerless cooking. During the months of June and July, we are each going to commit to cooking one meal each week without power. WEEK 3: JULIE TRIES THE WONDERBOX OVEN:
Julie tried making brown rice in her Wonderbox oven. She left it at home while she was gone for a few hours and came back to cooked rice. She got it to work, but thinks a couple more tries will perfect it. See the post here.
WEEK 4: JODI MAKES BREAD FROM SCRATCH IN AN APPLEBOX OVEN:
During the 7 Day Challenge, Jodi made bread from scratch and tested out her applebox oven, along side a SunOven. It’s always fun to do side-by-side tests to see how well things really work. See the Youtube video here.
WEEK 5: JULIE USES A QUICKSTOVE TO MAKE BREAKFAST:
During the 7 Day Challenge, Julie used her Quickstove to make her breakfast. It was so easy, and had a fast set-up and clean-up. Some meals you don’t feel like pulling out big appliances. Read more about the adventure here.
