Welcome to DAY 7 of the 2025Â 7 Day Challenge. Today is our last day! Can you believe we made it through the week??? Let’s finish strong and then celebrate!
In order to be notified of the 2026 7 Day Challenge please sign up for the 7 Day Challenge email list or subscribe via text by texting 7daychallenge to 717-788-3663.
REMEMBER: To get the most out of the challenge, don’t be too literal about the scenarios. Modify them to fit YOUR family’s situation. Also, try to actually DO each day’s tasks. Don’t try to justify why you wouldn’t “need” to. The point is to PRACTICE our skills!
Day 7: HOUSEHOLD CHANGE đźŹ

Life (and your family situation) can change fast. Maybe you’ve welcomed a new baby, an aging parent has moved in, or one of your kids just left for college. Each shift in your family means your preparedness plan needs to shift too. Today, you’ll take stock of how your supplies line up with your current household … not the family you had last year.
TODAY’S CHALLENGES:
👉 Take an inventory of your entire long term food storage (use a food storage calculator to help).
👉 Inventory non-food items in your storage. This will be all your toiletries, paper products, etc.
👉 Make a list of what items you need to add to your storage to reflect any changes to your family.
👉 Bonus: Cook or bake a fun treat from your food storage to celebrate finishing the challenge! 🎉
HELPFUL HINTS:
Babies & Kids: Don’t forget diapers, formula, kid-friendly meds, and foods they’ll actually eat. Check out my post on 72 hour kits for babies and toddlers and my mommy emergency car kit for ideas.
Teens & Adults: Bigger appetites = bigger calorie needs. Double-check your meal plans. Account for teens as adults in your calculators instead of as kids.
Elderly/Medical Needs: Prescription meds, mobility aids, extra hygiene items may be required. Consider Jase Medical for access to emergency prescriptions.
Pets: They’re family too so make sure you account for their food, water, and meds. Check out my blog post on pets and preparedness for ideas.
Rotation Reminder: Seasonal or age-related changes (outgrown clothes, expired meds) are easier to catch with a quick check like this.
REFLECTION:
Take a few minutes after your “inventory” day to think through what you learned from going through the experience. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Did your supplies match your current household, or were they stuck in the past?
- What items have your kids (or you 🤪) outgrown (clothes, meds, food preferences)?
- If someone new joined your household tomorrow, what would you need more of right away?
- Did this inventory make you feel more prepared or highlight big gaps?
- What’s one small, affordable item you can add this week to boost your readiness?
Print out the worksheets below and add items you need to do, to learn, and to buy as you find holes in your preparedness plans today. Print multiple sheets as needed.

SHARING TIME:
You made it through the 7-Day Challenge — congratulations! 🎉 Hopefully you’ve enjoyed sharing your accomplishments, successes, learnings, and even your failures throughout the week.
- Post in the Facebook Group thread for Day 7: What was something surprising you discovered as you did your inventory today? Did you end up making something yummy to celebrate? Come on over and share your experiences with your final day!
- Photos welcome but not required — you can just describe your experience if you’d rather not show your supplies.
Don’t skip this part! Remember … the group conversation is one of the most valuable parts of the seven day challenge.
