We Heart Pinterest Day 3: Books We Love

Book Reviews, food storage books, Pinterest
Since we LOVE Food Storage, and LOVE Pinterest (see post here), each day until February 14th, we'll be showing you some of our favorite Pinterest boards and neat things we have found and have pinned there! It's so great to see and share what others have done. Today we are highlighting our Books We Love board. This board is full of books we love and like to keep on hand in case of emergency. While the internet is great, you can't always count on it being there in case of emergency! To see the whole board, click here. PIN 1: We've pinned our ebook to our Books We Love board, since it's been such a great resource for helping people plan, buy, and use their food storage. PIN 2: The…

No Internet? No Problem… NOT!

food storage books, Recipes
So while I have been moving into my new house I have been without internet for a couple of weeks. Part of it has been nice (the part that Jodi has been covering most of the emails and what not) but it's made me go a little crazy! Something we've talked about before, and I always knew, is that if there were some kind of emergency where there was no power (or internet) how many of your resources would be lost. I rely so heavily on the internet for information, and recipes. The past couple of weeks has re-confirmed to me how important it is to have your "stuff" OFFline. One great way to have information off line is through books, printed recipes, and your Food Storage Made Easy Binder.…

Healthy Food Storage, Book Review, Conference Discount

Book Reviews, food storage books, Healthy Food Storage, Julie's Progress
Julie doesn't normally ramble... but when "Healthy Food Storage" is the topic- she does. Keep reading, the end is the best! Remember our "Why Food Storage?" series we did awhile back. Lately I have been learning a LOT about two of the reasons for Food Storage that would surprise you. It's not the natural disasters, economic, or even every day reasons. What I'm learning about more lately is the health benefits and religious reasons but it's shocking to me how intertwined they actually are! In our series we mentioned that the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints counsels it's members to build a food storage. On our facebook discussion page, we were thrilled to hear from readers who are not members of the LDS church who likewise have…

Food Storage Pep Talk

Events, food storage books, Networking
We had a great time this weekend at the Food Storage Fair in Ogden - yes yes, we know - why don't they do these things EVERYWHERE? We were asked to be presenters and we had a vendor booth to sell our eBooks (that we put on Disc for shows and expos) and WonderMills. It was so much fun and we LOVED the enthusiasm everyone there had for Food Storage. The only drawback of the event was that while we were manning our booth, we couldn't go to all the excellent classes. BUT luckily some of our favorite readers were there and we're going to work on convincing them to share (hint hint Becky -making mozzarella cheese out of powdered milk....)    Our class was for people who were "Getting…

Book Review: Dinner Is In The Jar

Book Reviews, food storage books, Recipes
Please note: This is part of a series of reviews we are doing on food storage, emergency prep, and self-reliance type books. For more reviews click here.  Dinner Is In The Jar Quick, Easy Dinner Mixes in Mason Jars or Mylar Bags by Kathy Clark Background: If you know Jodi and me, you would be surprised at how much we differ, while being very similar at the same time.  When my husband and I met, he told Jodi (his sister) - "I met a girl I know you're going to like- she's just like YOU!" When it comes to cooking, meal planning and recipes however; the only thing we have in common is our deep and abiding love for Cadbury mini-eggs- which you would know about if you were a…
